The Struggles of Education in Haiti

Haiti’s economy is among the poorest in the Western Hemisphere, worsened in recent years by an unstable government and escalating gang activity in the country’s capital. For many parents, the daily struggle to feed their children often means they cannot afford to send them to school. Increasingly, it’s a heartbreaking choice between one or the other—not both.

Keeping Kids in School

In 2021, thanks to our generous donors, we helped keep 70 children in school through tuition sponsorships. By the 2025–2026 school year, that number will have risen dramatically to around 220 children—and the waiting list continues to grow. Our dedicated ground team in Jérémie works tirelessly to:
